California Responsible Beverage Seller (RBS) On and Off Premise Training
To ensure public safety in the state of California, the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) requires workers in establishments that sell or serve alcohol to complete a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training program provided by an approved RBS training provider such as 360training.com. The goal of this program is to reduce the number of alcohol-related accidents and incidents by preventing the sale of alcohol to intoxicated individuals and minors.
The program provides enrollees with the knowledge and skills to identify signs of intoxication in their customers: from slurred speech to loud, offensive talk; from unsteady walk to impaired hand-eye coordination. In addition, it trains the enrollees in the different methods for managing intoxicated patrons, including the all-important technique for refusing a sale. To address the prohibition against selling alcohol to minors, the program includes techniques for verifying I.D. authenticity to safeguard against the inadvertent sale of alcohol to an underage customer.
Protraining offers RBS training via Learn2serve’s California Responsible Beverage Service Training program, which comes in two course variants: the California Responsible Beverage Service Training On-premises and the California Responsible Beverage Service Training Off-premises. The first is for alcohol sellers whose customers consume the alcohol inside their premises (typically, bars and restaurants); the second is for alcohol sellers whose customers consume the alcohol outside their premises (typically, groceries and convenience stores).
Each is a self-paced 3-hour course that directly leads to an alcohol seller/server certification. Because it’s 100% online, interactive, and multimedia, certification with each course is simple, fast, and fun. After passing the final quiz, you can then download and print your certificate of completion. You can now use this certificate to jumpstart your career as an alcohol seller or server in California.
